Try to be pleasant to one another, get plenty of fresh air, read a good book now and then, depose your government when it suspends the free press, try to use the mechanism of the state to adjudicate fairly and employ diplomatic means wherever possible to avoid armed conflict.
Prometheus, responding to the question of what humans can do to improve themselves in The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde
Okay, everyone. Let’s get this straight.
These guys are fighting for your freedom:

These guys are providing muscle to a corrupt government because they can’t find jobs or afford to go to school:

Military service is not the same thing as fighting for freedom. I love my soldier friends, and I appreciate their service, but they are not fighting for freedom. They’re fighting for a government that wants to strip America of all freedom.
This graph shows the place on the political spectrum of all of the candidates for president. Notice how Obama and Romney are basically the same. America has been tricked into a one-party system.
When I was a kid during the Cold War I used to ask adults, “Why are the Russians bad?” and the reply would always include how they don’t have fair elections and people only have one candidate on the ballot. Look how far we’ve come.
I propose that you go to the source site for this image, politicalcompass.org, and find out where your beliefs really lie (the test there isn’t perfect or complete, but it’s a start), and see which candidate really represents you. You have more options beyond Thing 1 and Thing 2. I personally might be voting for Jill Stein.
Let’s take this opportunity to break apart the one-party system and build an America run by people rather than corporations.
White House deletes petition to hold TSA to court order
Guys, this is important if you’re American. The TSA was ordered to review their carcinogenic naked scanners by a court over a year ago. The TSA has still not complied with that court order. So EPIC posted a petition on the White House web site, where they are supposed to get a (usually vague and meaningless) response about the issue from the White House, if it gets enough signatures. The White House took the petition down before its time had expired, just before it reached the required 25,000 signatures.
The TSA has been violating freedoms and destroying the Constitution, and now the president is helping them to avoid accountability for it.
