Yes, I really did keep track of every location in every episode and calculate the mileage.
Some locations are completely unknown, and therefore not plotted on the map.  If I knew the state, but not the location within the state, I used the city closest to the geographic center of the state.
Note: this is just where the Impala went.  That’s why Season 7 is so short and it doesn’t show their trip to Scotland in season 6.

Since my previous Supernatural map has proved to be popular, here is another one.
This one includes all of the known locations where the Winchesters travelled, and how many episodes took place in each state.  It doesn’t include locations that are just mentioned or shown in flashbacks because it is from the data I collected in tracking the Impala.  (I was also too lazy to add Scotland to the map, for that one dot.)
Again, click the source link to embiggen.
P.S. Maybe they avoid the South because it’s too hard to find Canadians who can do believable Southern accents?

Supernatural Locations Masterpost

Below the break, I will post all of the basic data that I collected to make my Supernatural maps (this one and this one).  I’m offering this freely, since it’s not like I own any of this information.  It’s all free for the gathering in the episodes.

Use it to make your own maps or whatever you want.  (Some of the towns listed are fictional.  That’s what makes it even more fun to try to map.)  I left out all the information about whether they were in the Impala or not.  It’s just basic data of where the Winchesters travelled.

If you make any maps or anything from this data, let me know because I would probably like to see (and maybe reblog) such things.

All new and improved, Supernatural map.  This one is zoomable and all of the tags are marked with the episode number and other information.
Click the picture or source link to see the real map.
Again, not all locations are known, and some are fictional.  If you click on the tags, it gives the name, and the location and other notes.
Also, some locations that have been visited more than once, you can really only see one of the tags.  I’m not sure how to fix that.  (I think there are about 40 tags piled on top of each other in Sioux Falls, SD for all the time they spent at Bobby’s.)
