Okay, so I do freelance writing for this web site where companies and blogs pay a pittance for a small piece of original copy written by people like me.
So I do a couple assignments a week, and then today I got an assignment actually assigned directly to me, like they wanted me to write it specifically, rather than offering it openly to whoever grabs it. Which is not only flattering, but pays twice as much as a standard open assignment.
So I’m checking the blog that this is being written for because they give you a link so you can see what style and format to use. The top article is one that I wrote for them a couple weeks ago. With someone else’s name tagged on it.
Now, I don’t specifically care. When I signed on to do copy writing, it is with the understanding that the client can do whatever they want with my text. But I am a little curious. Like, does that blog employ a full-time copy writer and she didn’t feel like doing her assignments this week so she farmed them out to freelancers and put her name on them? Or do they just make up fake names and tack stock photos on them for all of their articles? Cause I’m not an Asian girl from New York named Laura. But I definitely wrote that article.
