I’ve been told the whole “dwarf hamsters are social” thing before. I don’t believe it. I have tried having same sex pairs together, and in every case, I’ve had to separate them. Every pair I’ve bought were together from birth, and then at a few months old they try to disembowel each other. I’d like to say that things will calm down and they’ll get over it, but that has not been my experience. Sorry.
