where-did-things-go-wrong: specklespack: Gay teen’s parents: Bullying continued after his suicide The parents of Jamey Rodemeyer, who committed suicide at 14 after being bullied, alleged Tuesday that even his death hasn’t ended the harassment: At a school dance after his wake, they said, bullies chanted that the gay teen was “better off dead.” What bothers me is that the Christians who preach that homosexuality is wrong don’t see how what they preach (even if they claim - as they all do - to preach it out of love) leads directly to this kind of bullying and harassment.  When you teach “Gays are bad” you are giving bullies permission to hate.
