David is Scottish…

Scottish is British, as is Welsh and English and Northern Irish. Britain encompasses Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales as well as England, so therefore David is a British man, and more specifically has ruined my life.

Technically, British doesn’t include Northern Ireland, unless you define it differently so that it includes all of Ireland.  You see, British can mean “The British Isles” (The Island of Great Britain and Ireland) but it usually just means the Island if Great Britain, which only encompasses England, Wales and Scotland.  So while the UK (a political entity, not a geographic entity) includes Northern Ireland, technically they are not British.  But the Scottish definitely are.
